Adam Idah continues to enjoy his links to Celtic with big decision looming

You could argue that Celtic’s league and cup double success last season would not have been possible without Adam Idah.

Someone else may well have popped up with crucial goals like the ones he scored during his loan spell from Norwich City, but the striker’s impact undoubtedly helped fire the Bhoys towards success in the Scottish Premiership and Scottish Cup.

His future has been much speculated on since his last-minute winner against Rangers at Hampden, with the Canaries indicating he’ll be initially returning there this summer despite Celtic’s interest in a transfer.

Brendan Rodgers made it crystal clear he wants to sign him up permanently but that will take a decent fee and some wage negotiation with the player himself.

As it all rumbles on, Idah is making it clear he enjoys being a ‘Bhoy’ and retains relationships with members of the Celtic dressing room.

No-one would be surprised if Adam Idah pushes for Celtic move

On Instagram this weekend he posted a photo with James Forrest alongside the caption: “The Bhoys in green.”

In and of itself it’s not much evidence of anything, despite it sparking heavy social media activity from Celtic fans.

However, it simply adds to the argument that Idah would be more than happy to commit his career to the Scottish champions.

Idah has been publicly non-committal about the specifics of a switch to Glasgow but has also made it very clear he loved his time at Celtic, even compared to Norwich where he felt like a ‘scapegoat’ for their problems.

He said last month: “I probably wasn’t enjoying my football down south. I was a scapegoat and it’s tough when you’re in there. The love I’ve had here has been amazing. I’m loving it here. I probably didn’t expect it to be as good as what it was. This has really changed my career around.

“I’ve come up here and the players, the staff, the fans, they’ve all welcomed me in, and they’ve given me that confidence and belief to enjoy playing football again.”

There are big decisions ahead and details to iron out but if Celtic deem his signature worth the outlay then nobody would be surprised to see Idah jump at the chance to become a Bhoy on a permanent basis.
