Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of June 29

Since the beginning of June 29, 117 combat engagements have already taken place in the frontline. The situation remained the most tense in the Pokrovsk sector, but the enemy is also trying to advance towards Toretsk, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

General situation

According to the General Staff, since the beginning of the day, Russians have launched two missile and 40 air strikes on Ukrainian territory using 72 combat aircraft and 284 kamikaze drones. Today, Ukrainian military positions and populated areas came under 3,000 enemy attacks from various types of weapons.

At the same time, the Ukrainian Air Force, missile troops and artillery hit a Russian command center, a fuel and lubricant depot, and three areas where personnel were concentrated.

Situation at the frontlines

In the Kharkiv direction, Ukrainian troops successfully stopped 12 enemy attempts to improve their position in the area of Vovchansk. The Russians suffered losses and retreated.

In the Kupiansk and Lyman directions, the total number of combat engagements increased to 13. The enemy tried to push the Defense Forces from their positions in the areas of Synkivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Stelmakhivka, Hrekivka, Nevske, and Torske. 5 attacks have been repelled so far. Fighting continues. The situation is under the control of Ukrainian defenders.

In the Siversk direction, six enemy attempts to force our defenders out of their positions in the areas of Spirne and Vyymky were unsuccessful.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy unsuccessfully attacked Ukrainian troops seven times near Kalynivka, Hryhorivka, and Chasiv Yar. Another battle is ongoing in the area of Novyi. Ukrainian positions and territories were not lost.

In the Horlivka-Toretsk area, the enemy attacked Ukrainian troops' positions seven times with the support of aviation. Another battle continues near New York. The situation is under the control of Ukrainian defenders.

The number of combat engagements in the Pokrovsk sector increased to 41 since the beginning of the day. The enemy is most active in the area of Ocheretyne. The enemy keeps trying to break into our combat formations near Novooleksandrivka, Yevhenivka, Vozdvyzhenka, Sokol, Novoselivka Persha, Prohres, and Umanske. Our soldiers have already repelled 29 aggressor attacks, and 12 clashes are still ongoing.

According to preliminary estimates, the enemy's losses in this sector amounted to 252 people, 106 of them were irrecoverable. A tank, seven vehicles, and a BM-21 Grad multiple rocket launcher were destroyed. Seven cannons and mortars, six vehicles, and four enemy armored combat vehicles were damaged.

In the Kurakhove direction, the enemy carried out 14 assault actions in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Kostiantynivka, and Paraskoviivka. Currently, 11 attacks have been successfully repelled. The situation remains tense in the area of Krasnohorivka, where three firefights are currently ongoing. The defense forces are taking measures to prevent the occupants from advancing deeper into the territory of Ukraine. The situation is under control.

In the Vremivka direction, the activity of Russian troops almost doubled compared to the previous day. Today, the aggressor stormed the frontline seven times in the areas of Vodiane, Urozhayne, and Staromayorsk.

In the Orikhiv direction, two enemy attacks took place in the areas of Mala Tokmachka and Novodanylivka.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, four more enemy attempts to take the positions of our soldiers in the area of Krynky failed.

Today, the Russian army attacked the center of the town of Vilniansk in the Zaporizhzhia region. As a result of enemy attacks, 7 people were killed and more than 20 others were wounded.
