£34m 'monster' is now ‘hell-bent’ on snubbing Arsenal transfer to join Man City instead

One of the best players in Europe is reportedly set on joining Manchester City this summer despite strong interest from Arsenal.

Pep Guardiola’s side are arguably the most appealing Premier League side for any top player looking to move to England, with City winning the last four league titles and playing a brand of football that is unlike anything else in other major European leagues.

Arsenal target Bruno Guimaraes believed to be keen on a move to City over north London, Mikel Arteta’s side could be powerless in any of their bids to sign targets if Guardiola and his team emerge from the shadows as potential suitors.

And the Gunners could now miss out on a target to City in the coming weeks.

Arsenal-linked Joshua Kimmich set on Man City move and Pep Guardiola reunion

According to the Mirror, Arsenal are keen on signing Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich, though the Germany international is ‘hell-bent’ on a move to City and a reunion with former manager Guardiola.

Once labelled as a ‘monster’ by former Bayern and Germany manager Hansi Flick, it’s understandable why Kimmich is keen to join City this summer, with the 29-year-old’s time with the Bundesliga giants seemingly coming to an end.

Whilst a case can be made that Mikel Arteta might be an even better fit for Kimmich than Guardiola, the midfielder’s past relationship and success with the Catalan coach can’t be dismissed given how well the duo did together at Bayern.

And for Arsenal, their race to sign Kimmich could end here, with City ticking all the boxes the Germany international needs when it comes to which club the Bayern superstar wants to join this summer.

Arsenal need to concede defeat in Kimmich pursuit

Kimmich always felt like an unlikely signing for Arsenal this summer given the German international’s age and rumoured wage, with the midfielder in the superstar bracket of transfer that the Gunners simply can’t justify this window.

And with the Bayern star intent on joining City this summer and working with Guardiola again, Arsenal can save themselves a lot of time and hassle in the transfer war room by pulling out of the Kimmich race.

Indeed, it’s clear that Arsenal’s current transfer philosophy is working wonders with the squad, and missing out on Kimmich won’t be the end of the world for the Gunners this summer.
