Baseball: Hawks batter Fighters, complete sweep

Livan Moinelo threw six scoreless innings and left with a two-run lead before the Pacific League-leading SoftBank Hawks' offense ran rampant in a 10-3 win over the Nippon Ham Fighters to complete a three-game series sweep.

Moinelo (5-2) allowed three walks and five hits while striking out seven. Ryoya Kurihara opened the scoring with a fourth-inning solo homer, his seventh, and Tomoya Masaki doubled in a sixth-inning insurance run at Es Con Field Hokkaido outside Sapporo.

PL batting leader Kensuke Kondo went 2-for-4 with two runs, a walk and an RBI for the Hawks, who knocked out 17 hits

First-year import Franmil Reyes hit a two-run ninth-inning homer for the Fighters.

Among other games on Sunday, Tomoyuki Sugano (6-1) allowed a run over 5-1/3 innings for his first win since June 2 as the Yomiuri Giants held off the Central League-leading Hiroshima Carp 3-2.

The Yakult Swallows scored five eighth-inning runs to beat the defending CL champion Hanshin Tigers 6-5.
