Man Utd star with just 13 appearances spotted bulking up in the gym with Anthony Elanga, also training with Teden Mengi

Manchester United star has been spotted bulking up ahead of the new season. He’s training with former Red Devils stars Anthony Elanga and Teden Mengi.

Manchester United’s academy is one of the finest assets at producing top-quality talent, as was proven with some of the club’s top-performing stars over the 23/24 season.

Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho were two of Erik ten Hag’s star men, and are the two new academy stars that look set to be in and around the first-team squad for the foreseeable future at Old Trafford.

But as they made it, many academy graduates slipped through the cracks. This includes Anthony Elanga and Teden Mengi, who have since gone on to become fabulous talents for other Premier League clubs.

It’s an all too familiar feat for academy players at Manchester United. They often leave to seek game time elsewhere. This was the case for Hannibal Mejbri in the 23/24 season, heading on loan to Sevilla. Now, he’s back – and he’s training hard ahead of the new campaign.

The Tunisian, who has only ever played 13 times for Manchester United, is back for now – although it is still massively uncertain as to whether he is part of Ten Hag’s plans.

Nevertheless, the 21-year-old is hard at work at the gym, bulking up to try and fight for his place at Old Trafford. He’s been training with Nottingham Forest’s Elanga.

Alongside the Swede, Hannibal has also linked up with another familiar face in Mengi. The trio were spotted on the football pitch taking part in some drills, as they all prepare for their new campaigns at separate clubs.

It’s nice to see they all remain friends despite parting ways. It shows the tight-knit nature of Carrington graduates and the spirit of the United academy.
