All 20 goalkeepers linked with Celtic transfer since Joe Hart's retirement

Since Joe Hart announced his retirement the transfer rumour mill on who Celtic will sign to replace the iconic goalkeeper has been going into overdrive.

Hart was an excellent servant for Celtic as he took over from Vasilis Barkas in 2021 to help Ange Postecoglou wrestle the Scottish Premiership title back from Rangers.

Bringing the former Tottenham and England goalkeeper to Paradise proved to be a masterstroke by Postecoglou as his skill and experience helped deliver seven trophies out of nine during Hart’s time at the club.

So as Brendan Rodgers continues to find the correct man to take over from Hart, here we bring you all 19 goalkeepers who have remarkably been linked to Celtic since the veteran Englishman announced he was hanging up his gloves.

Peter Vindahl Jensen

We discussed at the beginning of the month that Celtic were in negotiations with Sparta Prague for their number-one stopper.

With a £4m fee being mooted as the fee that would be enough to seal the deal for the Danish goalkeeper, this is one that is easily affordable for the Parkhead side.

A league and Czech Cup double-winning goalkeeper, Jensen knows what it takes to be a champion and at just 26, he fits into the current Celtic transfer model.

Martin Dubravka

Dubravka is a name that has been doing the rounds for the last few weeks. We spoke this afternoon about how his departure from Newcastle could be speeded up as the Premier League club looks to add another goalkeeper to their ranks.

First linked to Celtic prior to the beginning of Euro 2024, Rodgers believes that the 35-year-old could do a similar job to what Joe Hart did in his three seasons at the club.

With Newcastle said to be looking to allow Dubravka to leave so that they can meet England’s FFP rules, a deal to bring the Czech international could be a lot easier, and cheaper, than that of Peter Vindahl Jensen.

18 other goalkeepers linked to Celtic this summer

It has been a long few months of transfer rumours to keep up with and the number of names linked to Celtic is vast.

Liam Kelly was also said to be a target for Celtic but has since agreed to join Rangers. Croatian international ‘keeper Dominik Livakovic is also a name said to be attracting attention from the Parkhead club.

Caoimhin Kelleher and Andriy Lunin have spoken about as possible replacements for the former Celtic hero, as have Asmir Begovic, Alex McCarthy and Mark Travers.

Lorient’s Yvon Mvogo, RKC Waalwijk’s Etienne Vaessen and Bayern Munich’s Daniel Peretz have all been rumoured to be of interest to Rodgers.

As has Bosnian, Kenan Piric, former Manchester United goalkeeper Altay Bayindir, Belgium’s Koen Casteels who has now signed for Al-Qadsiah and Burnley’s Arijanet Muric.

But the list does not stop there. Trabzonspors Ugurcan Cakir has also been touted for a Glasgow move as has Exeter City’s Viljami Sinisalo.

And to finish off the list of 20, Sunderland’s Anthony Patterson has also been named as a possible target for Celtic along with Middlesbrough’s, Tom Glover.

With the start of the season less than six weeks away, the Celtic fans will be hoping that Brendan Rodgers will be close to announcing Joe Hart’s successor as he bids to defend the league title and compete in next season’s Champions League.
