Rajasthan CM, MP CM participates in Joint Initiative for Implementation of PKC Interstate River Link Project

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], June 30 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma participated in the Joint Initiative for Implementation of the Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal (PKC) Interstate River Link Project.

Addressing an event commemorating the Interstate Parvati-Kalasindh-Chambal Riverlink Project in Bhopal, Rajasthan CM thanked Rajasthan CM for organising this event.

"For a long time, there was a demand for this project in both the states but there should be a craving to take Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan forward. I want to thank CM Mohan Yadav for organising this event. This scheme will take our states ahead," Rajasthan CM said.

He said that PM Modi has given a concrete shape to the draft of the agreement of Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal (PKC) between the two states.

"The farmers of the state will also prosper. Both the states and the centre will work together to take this scheme forward. This scheme will strengthen the relationship between the two states," he added.

This link project proposes to provide drinking and industrial water in 13 districts of eastern Rajasthan, Malwa and Chambal regions of Madhya Pradesh apart from providing irrigation in 2.8 lakh ha. area (or more) each in both the states (total of 5.6 lakh ha or more) including supplementation of en route tanks in the states.

The Modified PKC link project will help in utilizing the available water resources of the Chambal basin optimally and economically. The various components of the Modified PKC link including areas of benefit shall be firmed up at the DPR stage in consultation with both the states. (ANI)
