'We have to continue': Jordi Alba now shares his opinion on if Inter Miami are missing Lionel Messi

Jordi Alba has revealed his verdict on whether Inter Miami are missing the presence and attacking quality of Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.

The Herons have been without their two superstar forwards for the past three games, fixtures that Inter Miami have won as the Florida franchise have recorded three consecutive 2-1 wins against some of MLS side’s best teams.

Last night saw Alba score a contender for Goal of the Season as Inter Miami bested Nashville SC in Tennessee, with youngster Ian Fray also on the scoresheet, having scored a week prior on his comeback appearance against the Columbus Crew.

Alba admits Inter Miami still miss Messi and Suarez despite recent form

Speaking to MLS Wrap-Up, Alba shared that the Herons are missing their two star forwards in Messi and Suarez, even with Inter Miami currently on a three-game winning streak after beating some good MLS sides.

Given that the Florida giants failed to win their last two games before Messi and Suarez headed out to the Copa America, the change in form has been remarkable, to say the least, from Inter Miami.

Yet whilst the Herons are picking up big wins and playing good soccer, there’s no denying that having two of the best attackers on the planet would be a boost for Inter Miami, especially when it comes to rotation.

Alba said when asked if Inter Miami miss Messi and Suarez: “We miss them a lot, for their international teams they’re doing really well and we hope they stay there for as long as possible, but for now, we’re doing well ourselves here, and we have to continue going with this form.”

Messi and Suarez will be itching to return to MLS action

Messi and Suarez are both heading in the right direction with their nations in regards to winning the Copa America, with Argentina and Uruguay two of the four perfect sides in the tournament having won all their games at the time of writing.

However, given how much fun Messi and Suarez were having with Inter Miami, it wouldn’t be a surprise if both forwards were eager to return to MLS action, especially with the Herons flying in recent weeks.

Indeed, the last three wins have set Inter Miami up perfectly to go all the way to win the Supporters’ Shield, and Messi and Suarez’s returns will be huge in giving Tata Martino’s side a boost in the final matches of the regular season.
