'Showed it': Yannick Bright in awe by what he saw from Inter Miami youngster vs Nashville

Inter Miami midfielder Yannick Bright has shared his admiration for one Herons’ youngster after their performance yesterday against Nashville SC.

Tata Martino’s side made it three wins from three since Inter Miami lost three star forwards to the Copa America, with goals from Jordi Alba and Ian Fray securing a 2-1 win away in Tennessee to Nashville.

Making back-to-back MLS starts for the first time this year, Bright was once again impressive in midfield as the Italian-born 22-year-old once again showed we he has been an ideal replacement in the center of the park for Julian Gressel.

Yet Bright was impressed with another youngster in Music City for Inter Miami.

Bright lauds Ian Fray after Inter Miami win vs Nashville

Speaking in the mixed zone after the result, Bright highlighted how impressed he was with Fray’s performance for Inter Miami, with the defender scoring in consecutive games for the Herons.

Returning last week after a year out on the sideline with an ACL injury, Fray’s comeback and subsequent form has arguably been the feelgood story of the season for Inter Miami, who have missed the 21-year-old defender’s quality.

Indeed, the Coconut Creek native has been a welcome addition for Inter Miami in the last two games, and Bright has rightly praised Fray for his latest performance for the Florida franchise against Nashville.

Bright said: “Especially at a club like this, you’ve got to be ready, you never know when your time will come, and we showed it. Look at Ian, he scored again for example, so you’ve always got to be ready when your opportunity comes along and you’ve got to make the best of the minutes that you get.”

Fray can be huge for Inter Miami this year in MLS run-in

Three consecutive ACL injuries has kept Fray out of action way longer than any player should rightly bear throughout any career, yet with the defender fit and firing on all cylinders, the 21-year-old could be huge for Inter Miami.

The MLS run-in will make or break Inter Miami’s chances of winning the Supporters’ Shield, a trophy the Herons seem intent on clinching having already missed out on the CONCACAF Champions Cup this year.

And with Fray now fit, the defender could play a big role in Inter Miami’s domestic success, with the fullback ready to do everything he can to take the Herons to the next level and into the history books.
