Piers Morgan tells Arteta to 'sign' £43m player for Arsenal after he dazzles at Euro 2024

Arsenal supporter Piers Morgan has now urged Mikel Arteta to swoop for one Euro 2024 sensation this summer.

A number of Arsenal transfer targets have featured at this international tournament in Germany.

Mikel Arteta is known to want to bolster his attacking contingent this summer. Arsenal have already tried to sign Benjamin Sesko, who featured for Slovenia at Euro 2024. However, the striker instead opted to sign a new deal with current club RB Leipzig.

The Gunners have also shown an interest in Italy winger Federico Chiesa in the past. The Juventus man struggled to shine in Germany though, as Italy were dumped out of the competition by Switzerland in the first knockout round.

The North London club’s scouts will still be keeping tabs on a number of players now starring at Euro 2024. Broadcaster and Arsenal fan Piers Morgan has now made his feelings clear about who the Gunners should sign this summer.

Piers Morgan begs Arsenal to sign Spain winger Nico Williams

Arsenal have already been linked with a move for Nico Williams this summer. The Athletic Bilbao star is available for £43 million, and would be an exciting addition to Arteta’s ranks.

Morgan certainly feels that the Arsenal manager should not hesitate to make a move for the 21-year-old. After seeing Williams tear apart Georgia at Euro 2024 last night, the journalist and TV personality took to X to tell Arteta to: “Sign him.”

Should Arsenal sign Williams this summer?

However, there would be a potential downside to bringing the 17-cap star to the Emirates Stadium. Arteta has been warned that Williams’ wage demands could cause problems in the Arsenal dressing room, as he is currently very well paid by Athletic Bilbao.

That being said, were he to join Arsenal this summer, it is easy to see what Williams would bring to Arteta’s squad. He boasts blistering pace, is a creative force, and has an eye for goal. He can also operate on either flank, meaning he would offer competition for minutes to the likes of Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka.

Arsenal are certainly unlikely to strike a deal for Williams whilst he remains in Germany, competing with Spain at Euro 2024. His full focus will currently be fixed upon that competition, but the Gunners will surely be watching closely to see if he continues to impress.
