‘Fantastic’ player who left Tottenham on a free is now training with London rivals - David Ornstein

Tottenham Hotspur have proven ruthless in offloading unwanted players so far this summer.

Spurs look set to pick up a fee for Joe Rodon as part of a deal which will see Archie Gray move to north London.

Five players have also headed out the door on free transfers, including Ryan Sessegnon, Ivan Perisic, Eric Dier, Japhet Tanganga and Tanguy Ndombele.

Dier will be hoping to secure a permanent switch to Bayern Munich after an encouraging loan spell in the Bundesliga.

The same goes for Ivan Perisic, who spent the second half of last season on loan at his boyhood club Hajduk Split.

The futures of Tanganga, Ndombele and Sessegnon have been less clear but it would appear that the latter is in line to remain in the Premier League.

Ryan Sessegnon training with Crystal Palace

Following five frustrating years at Tottenham, Sessegnon is exploring his options as a free agent.

The 24-year-old arrived in north London as one of the brightest prospects in England following a brilliant spell at Fulham. But due to persistent hamstring injuries, things at Spurs didn’t quite work out for the talented full-back.

However, Sessegnon could be set for a move across London as he’s been training with Crystal Palace as he works his way back to full fitness.

David Ornstein claims that Palace boss Oliver Glasner has been an admirer of Sessegnon following his loan spell at Hoffenheim during the 2020/21 season.

Palace move would be ideal for Sessegnon

Sessegnon managed just 57 appearances for Spurs during his five years at the club and it’s fair to say he’s yet to reach his undoubted potential.

Yet, a move to Palace seems like an ideal switch for the ‘fantastic’ defender. Palace are undoubtedly on the up under Glasner after an exceptional finish to the last season.

The Austrian boss is also renowned for improving players and it could be the perfect environment for Sessegnon to get his career back on track.
