TV star in demand for gruelling competition as he's in 'good shape' at 60

Mike Turner is part of the Survivor new era, but now that he’s 60 years old, fans are unsure if he’d have a chance of returning to the 50 season. He’s now in demand though, thanks to being in “good shape”.

Survivor 50 is looming. Without a confirmed cast, Mike Turner has joined fan wish lists for a return, with one writing, “He was such a dynamic player and a great runner-up to a great winner.”

Mike Turner in demand for Survivor

Mike Turner is in high demand to return for Survivor 50, even though he’ll be 62 years old by that point. Currently, he is 60, and he’s always believed in himself and his abilities on the CBS show.

He told Survivor, “I possess all the attributes needed. I’ll be a beast in challenges, a worker in camp, yet I’ll make people believe I’m not a threat until it’s too late. I also have the gift of gab!”

Mike is also a family man and said, “I come from the projects, not a good home life, and I didn’t know how to be a father. I watched other good fathers and raised two amazing kids, and I’m very proud.”

Competitor in ‘good shape’ at 60

Mike is deemed to be in good shape at 60 years old. It’s a given that every Survivor contestant is physically fit, but as one of the competition’s oldest, he’s particularly special to fans.

One fan wrote on Reddit, “He’s one of the better characters and players of the new era, but by [the time] 50 rolls around he’s going to be 62. 50 might be his last chance to return. Do you think he has a chance?”

Another agreed and wrote, “One of my favourite players of the New Era, for sure. He seems to be in good shape for his age, too,” while a fellow fan said, “Production loves him. I would be happy to see him back.”

He was a Survivor runner-up

Mike was a runner-up on Survivor 42, which was his best feat so far. He is the oldest contestant to reach the Final Tribal Council at the time of filming, as he was 56 years old during his last season.

Despite his status as a strong jury threat in possession of a Hidden Immunity Idol, Mike’s relationship management allowed him to make the final four, where he defeated his ally Jonathan Young.

However, his failure to own up to his trail of betrayals cost him the jury’s respect, as he finished as the runner-up. But the retired firefighter was the highest-placing member of the Vati tribe!
