Police in the German state of Bavaria patrolling the borders with Austria and the Czech Republic denied entry to 37 people suspected of being violent football hooligans, police in Munich announced on Monday.

Extra border controls were reintroduced on June 7 on the occasion of the European Football Championship.

Another 186 people were arrested at the border after they were found to be wanted on arrest warrants, according to authorities.
