A woman was heartbroken and shocked when she suddenly received a response to a text message she sent to her late father’s phone number.
On TikTok, Nelly revealed she has been texting her late dad’s phone number ever since he died.
However, she was recently surprised when she received a response from the seemingly defunct number.
“Hi Dad. It’s been [five] months since you’re gone. I miss you so much. I wish you were here next to me. The pain of losing you has been the hardest thing I ever went through. I love you so much … I will always love and miss you Dad,” she texted her late dad on May 29, 2023.

She was stunned when she got a response back from someone saying, “Oh my, I’m so sorry,” telling her they “had just recently gotten this phone number.”
“Sorry to disturb you. I used to always text my dad to his number,” the heartbroken daughter replied to the stranger.
“My heart droppedwhen my message turned blue and delivered,” Nelly captioned the video on TikTok.
In the comments section, users left their thoughts about the sentimental story, with some even sharing their own similar experiences with grief.
“My dad passed away two years ago and my mom is still paying for his line and carries his cell phone,” one person wrote.
“My brother died in 2008 and my mom still pays his cell phone bill so people can text and leave voicemails,” another commented.
“I was receiving voicemails from a daughter missing her mom. I never reached out to tell her. I wanted her to keep having a way to reach out to her mom,” someone else shared.
