Fico to soon return to work and work 'at full capacity' - Slovak government

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico is gradually getting closer to working "at full capacity" after the assassination attempt in May, according to Deputy Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Kalinak.

According to Kalinak, the condition of the Slovak Prime Minister has improved so much that he can actively prepare for the EU leaders' summit.

The Deputy Prime Minister stated that after the attack, Fico would have lasting consequences for his motor functions.

Although Kalinak mentioned that the head of the Slovak government will soon appear in public, Fico admits that "not everything may go according to plan."

Assassination attempt on Fico

On May 15 this year, Fico was attacked. The Slovak Prime Minister was shot and taken by helicopter to the nearest medical facility. For several days, doctors fought for the life of the Prime Minister, who underwent several surgeries during this time.

Later, Fico regained consciousness and made his first statement after the attack.
