Arsenal fans left shocked by Leandro Trossard decision during France vs Belgium

Arsenal fans have been left stunned by Belgium’s treatment of Leandro Trossard tonight against France at Euro 2024.

The tournament favourites took on their European neighbours in Dusseldorf with France coming away as 1-0 winners against Belgium, where Domenico Tedesco’s side failed to create much in what was a limp performance from the Red Devils.

Whilst William Saliba was outstanding for France, the 2018 FIFA World Cup winners were toothless in attack, with a deflected own goal the only thing separating the two sides from a spot in the Euro 2024 quarter-finals.

And Arsenal fans were left fuming by what happened to Trossard on the night.

Arsenal fans rage as Trossard is unused for Belgium vs France

Chasing a goal and in need of something in attack, Trossard was not called upon at all for Belgium as the former European giant saw their Euros journey come to an end with a whimper against local rivals France.

Whilst Trossard had been criticised earlier in the tournament for his performances for Belgium, the 29-year-old Arsenal star has proven himself in the last 12 months to be a big player for the big occasions for club and country.

And Arsenal fans were not pleased that Trossard was not given an appearance from the bench against France.

One Arsenal fan wrote: “Why is Trossard still on the bench???? Get Lukaku off.”

Another supporter posted on Twitter: “Bring Trossard on you cowards.”

Indeed, Trossard’s Euros has gone as poorly as one could imagine, with the Arsenal forward failing to make much of an impact for Belgium despite a brilliant year for the Gunners in the Premier League and UEFA Champions League.

Which is why so many fans on social media were as annoyed as they were with Trossard’s no-show, with the winger exactly the sort of player Belgium could have done with to get something against France.

An Arsenal fan posted: “May be my bias but not subbing on Trossard is an embarrassing decision when you need a goal They deserve to go out.”

One more supporter wrote: “Carrasco has ruined a couple of nice moments for Belgium already. Not quite sure how he is getting into the squad ahead of Trossard!”

Arsenal fans can feel Trossard was short-changed at Euro 2024

Whether Trossard was injured or not tonight for Belgium, supporters can feel like the forward was underutilised by the Red Devils, especially after today’s defeat against France.

With Trossard one of Arsenal’s highest-scoring players this year, many supporters would have expected the former Brighton & Hove Albion man to play a bigger role this summer at the Euros.

However, it’s clear that Tedesco doesn’t fully trust Trossard in the attack, a decision that could go on the haunt Belgium given tonight’s crushing defeat against their European rivals.

Arteta has Arsenal stars in Marbella whilst Bukayo Saka struggles at Euro 2024

In this week’s episode, Will Jones and Rahul Lakhani discussed England’s recent poor performances at the European Championships. With Arsenal players Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka receiving mixed reviews for England so far, Gareth Southgate’s tactical decisions were questioned.

There was some talk about the members of the Arsenal squad currently on a surprise training camp with Mikel Arteta in Marbella, as well as a brief look at how Gabriel Magalhaes and Gabriel Martinelli are getting on at the Copa America with Brazil.
