Strike on Sevastopol on June 23

On June 23, powerful explosions were reported in several cities of temporarily occupied Crimea. Governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev, claimed there was an attack and the operation of air defense systems.

The Russians stated that they "repelled the attack, but debris fell on the beach in Sevastopol." Later, the occupying authorities reported "5 killed and over 100 wounded" as a result of the attack.

Propaganda outlets reported that Crimea was attacked with ATACMS missiles.

A spokesperson for the Ukrainian Navy, Dmytro Pletenchuk, emphasized that Ukrainian defenders did not hit the beach in Crimea, as claimed by the Russians. If it had been a targeted attack, there would have been much more casualties.
