The West Berks Foodbank’s shelves stand empty as demand continues to grow

The deputy foodbank manager at West Berks Foodbank, Laura Laschi, sang the praises of Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties, saying that the charity is glad the housebuilder has “recognised the importance of the foodbank and the role we play to help those in crisis”.

Only last week, the Newbury Weekly News reported that the West Berks Foodbank’s shelves stand empty as demand continues to grow and so this lifeline could not have come at a better time for the charities.

Roz Wells, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties, said: “As the cost of living crisis continues, it can be a difficult time for many, so charities such as these are essential for ensuring local families and individuals have the support they need.

“We are delighted to be able to donate towards these causes to provide essential items to those in need during this difficult time.”

West Berks Foodbank is “campaigning for a future where none of us need to use emergency food to get by”.
