North Korea stated on Tuesday that it conducted a test of a new tactical ballistic missile capable of carrying a super-large warhead, reports the Associated Press.

The official North Korean Central News Agency named the weapon Hwasongpho-11Da-4.5, capable of carrying a super-large warhead weighing 4.5 tons.

It is reported that Monday's test fire aimed to verify flight stability and accuracy, with a maximum range of 500 kilometers and a minimum range of 90 kilometers.

South Korean military sources previously reported that on July 1st, North Korea launched two ballistic missiles towards the east.

Earlier, Pyongyang claimed successful testing of a multiple warhead missile, which Seoul disputed, stating that the launch failed as the missile exploded mid-air.
