Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard has been recharging his batteries ahead of the upcoming Premier League season.
As Norway did not qualify for Euro 2024, Martin Odegaard has not spent the summer on international duty like many of his international teammates.
Instead, the Arsenal midfielder has been enjoying a well-earned rest ahead of what is sure to be another taxing campaign at the Emirates Stadium.
The 25-year-old was sensational for the Gunners last season, as Mikel Arteta’s side fell agonisingly short of landing a Premier League title. Odegaard has been described as a “perfect” Arsenal captain, and will be central to the manager’s plans for the new season.
Is it important that Odegaard is ready to hit the ground running once pre-season kicks off. Therefore, Arsenal fans will be pleased to know that he has had his feet up for much of the summer so far.
How has Arsenal star Martin Odegaard spent his summer?
Very shortly after the end of the Premier League season, Odegaard and his partner, Helene Spillane, jetted off for sunnier climes. They were joined by Arsenal forward Kai Havertz and his partner, Sophia Weber.
Havertz posted a snap of himself and Odegaard playing playing poker on a luxury yacht, before the German headed to Euro 2024, where he has since been leading the line for his country.
Odegaard’s travels have continued, though. In late June, he took to Instagram himself to post a series of photographs of himself and Spillane enjoying another visit to a luxury location.
Now, Odegaard will be linking up with Arteta and a few of his Arsenal teammates in Marbella. The manager and his coaching staff are hosting a relaxed training camp in the coastal Spanish city, with Ben White, Jurrien Timber, Eddie Nketiah, Fabio Vieira, Emile Smith Rowe, and Reiss Nelson already having gotten some useful work under their belts.
There is a casual nature to this training camp, though, as the player’s families are present too, and the players will also be afforded plenty of free time to enjoy their holiday period.
Odegaard will have big ambitions for new Arsenal season
Odegaard has established himself as one of the best Premier League players in recent seasons. He has found a home at Arsenal, and is enjoying being settled at a club where he is loved by the fanbase.
Arteta recently promised Arsenal fans that silverware is on the way, and Odegaard will be desperate to do all that he can to ensure that that vow is delivered upon.
