Journalist says £54m Man City player is ready to open talks over a move to Saudi Pro League next week

A current Manchester City player could have his sights set on heading to the Saudi Pro League sooner rather than later.

It seems like Saudi Arabia has replaced the United States as the go-destination for players — especially when they either feel their time at the top-level has come to an end or if they desire a change of scenery.

Kyle Walker did not rule out a future move to the Saudi Pro League, while speaking to FIVE’s official YouTube channel in May.

The Manchester City right-back also admitted that with the huge financial offers that clubs in Saudi Arabia present to players, it plays a massive role in their decision to say yes to such moves.

One player at the Etihad Stadium who has constantly been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia is Kevin De Bruyne — with the 33-year-old stating that at his age, he must be “open to everything” while admitting that the money he could earn over a two-year as a Saudi Pro League player is a factor worth considering.

Fresh revelation about Kevin De Bruyne and the Saudi Pro League emerges

However, De Bruyne confirmed on Monday that he intends to stay at Manchester City. But the £54.5 million man also suggested that if an “absurd” offer was tabled, he would consider leaving the club.

As per a revelation by journalist Rudy Galletti, De Bruyne has approved a meeting to kickstart negotiations regarding a move to the Saudi Pro League that are scheduled to take place next week.

The meeting in question will perhaps help the midfield maestro gauge the proposals in place for him if he does depart Manchester for a club in Saudi Arabia.

Tough to ascertain what decision Kevin De Bruyne will make

If the proposals in place are deemed satisfactory by De Bruyne, it is worth wondering whether he will decide to bid farewell to Manchester City and jet off to Saudi Arabia.

Considering the City vice-captain has confirmed that he will stay at the club — despite hinting a massive financial offer could lead him to change his mind — a move to the Saudi Pro League could polarise by the Etihad faithful.

The Manchester City legend could get stick for even mentioning that he intended to stay in the first place.

Pep Guardiola would be hoping that he can continue working alongside De Bruyne for one more season at the very least as it will be difficult to replace his genius for the club.
