'The only' – Man Utd legend dropped incredible eight-word response after going viral in bizarre street interview

Eric Cantona showed his affinity with Manchester United remains as strong as it has ever been after his incredible response in a bizarre viral street interview.

The 58-year-old Manchester United icon is widely considered one of the best players in the club’s history after his legendary impact in the 1990s.

Signed from Leeds United in 1992, Eric Cantona was a larger-than-life figure at Old Trafford and had a transformative impact on the Red Devils dressing room.

The Frenchman played an instrumental role in turning around United’s success during the 1990s under legendary former manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

Cantona lifted four Premier League titles and two FA Cups, with the French former forward also serving as club captain under Sir Alex Ferguson.

Despite his incredible success at Old Trafford, Cantona made the shock decision to leave United and retire from professional football at only the age of 30 in 1997.

One of United’s legendary No 7s, the former France international actively pursued his career in both acting and music after hanging up his boots as a player.

Cantona appears in random street interview

Eric Cantona has spoken openly about his love for Manchester United, including his close connection to Red Devils supporters.

United fans were left in stitches after they recently discovered that Cantona had appeared in a street interview with the TikTok creator EmanRTM.

EmanRTM’s clip features the presenter asking fans different questions, but one segment had him approaching none other than Cantona.

The TikToker asked United legend Cantona what is eight plus six, with the Frenchman pausing for a moment before responding with a fitting answer.

“The only number I know is number seven,” he said.

Cantona could then be seen walking away from EmanRTM before the camera panned down to show the former United star walking a goat.

Cantona on his love for Man Utd fans

United fans were delighted to see Cantona pop up in the viral TikTok clip, not to mention being left in stitches at the sight of his animal companion on the street.

Cantona previously admitted that he felt a “bit afraid” by the idea that United fans could one day stop chanting his name, despite his historical significance to the club.

“I feel proud, I feel great and I feel a bit afraid that they will stop – because they will stop one day,” he told the UTD Podcast in 2020, as per The Daily Mail.

Cantona added: “The meaning of Manchester United is winning. Winning with enjoyment.

“It’s what all fans of Manchester United expect. Not only winning, winning with enjoyment.

“Like for 25 years with Alex Ferguson, or before with Matt Busby. That’s Manchester United, it’s why we all love Manchester United.”
