Authorities transfer 53 kanals of state land to CRPF in Baramulla for setting up battalion camping site

The administration has allocated 53 kanals of state land to the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) for establishing a battalion camping site in the Baramulla district of north Kashmir.

The Revenue Department of Jammu and Kashmir has transferred 53 kanals and three marlas of land to the CRPF’s 53rd battalion at Kitchama in Baramulla district. This transfer was approved by the administrative council headed by the Lieutenant Governor during its meeting on June 7.

The land has been transferred to the paramilitary force under the provisions of Rule 310 of the General Financial Rules, 2017, for a payment of 3 crore and 44 lakh rupees.

According to the order from the Revenue Department, a copy of which is in possession of the Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the CRPF must comply with all laws related to the Revenue/Housing & Urban Development Department, Forest, and the J&K Water Resources (Regulation and Management) Act, 2010 before utilizing the land.

As per the terms and conditions, the CRPF must take possession of the land within 30 days from the transfer order and put the land to use within three years, failing which the land will revert back to the government.
