What West Brom fans are telling Mikey Johnston after Celtic winger’s ’recharged and ready to go’ message

Celtic’s pre-season training officially began last week as the double-winning heroes of last season returned to Lennoxtown.

With a number of first-team players snapped heading into the training facility, the excitement for the new season ahead can officially get going as Brendan Rodgers prepares his team for the upcoming pre-season fixtures.

With Ayr United and Queens Park up before the squad heads to the States for the 2024 US Summer Tour, there is work to be done to get the players as close to match fitness as possible.

And as Mikey Johnston says he’s ‘recharged and ready to go’, the West Brom fans responded and sent the Celtic winger a resounding message on social media.

West Brom fans send ‘phenomenal’ Celtic winger some love

Taking to Instagram, Johnston posted some holiday snaps with his pre-season message:

And it sent the West Brom fans into overdrive as they showed appreciation for the player who delivered some magical moments in their quest for promotion to the Premier League last season.

One fan urged Johnston to sign the contract although nothing has been offered yet:

Whilst one jokingly hinted that the Celtic winger made a typo in his message:

That seemed to be the common message for the Celtic man as one fan said, “Blue and white stripes suit you, just saying“.

Another Baggies fan urged Mikey to, “Come back” as another pleaded, “Albion needs you“.

These next two West Brom fans shared a lot of love for Johnston as one labelled him ‘phenomenal’:

So it is absolutely clear that the Championship clubs’ supporters are huge Mikey Johnston fans.

Whether Johnston has a future at Celtic beyond this summer remains to be seen. Brendan Rodgers is a fan of the winger but did suggest last summer that he needed to get his fitness up before he could challenge for a spot in the team.

Now that it looks like he will be returning to Lennoxtown soon, is this another summer where Johnston gets another chance to prove his worth or will he eventually be moved on?

The Celtic winger showed during his loan spell at The Baggies and when he was at Vitoria Guimaraes that he has the talent but needs to show it more, and consistently, in the green and white Hoops if he ever wants to have a career in Paradise.
