West Norfolk Lawn Tennis Club in North Runcton officially opens resurfaced courts

West Norfolk Lawn Tennis Club officially opened its newly resurfaced courts, with longstanding members Sonia Williams and Norma Bowen cutting the ribbon on the new artificial grass courts.

They have been installed thanks to the fundraising efforts of club members and funding support from West Norfolk Council, North Runcton Parish Council, the Rotary Club, Lynn Caravan and Camping Park and Sport England.

Matt Williamson brought the fundraising activities to a climax with his cycle ride from the club to Wimbledon in April.

The new courts mean that players will be able to play on grass all year round – on real grass courts in the summer and the artificial grass courts all year.

The North Runcton-based club is holding an open day on Saturday, July 27 from 10am to 2pm and would welcome new players (of any age) to come along.
