Young West Norfolk AC athletes compete at Quad Kids Norfolk Series

The typical British weather returned for the fourth instalment of the Quad Kids Norfolk Series at Thetford last weekend.

It was a different experience for the athletes with it being on a grass track but good practice for sports days! As usual, athletes take on four events including a sprint, run, jump, and throw.

Three under-11 girls represented West Norfolk Athletics Club on the day and endured the wet weather with some excellent performances.

Lauren Lawrence, Teagan Thorne and Kacey Gray competed in the fourth instalment of the Quad Kids Norfolk series

Teagan Thorne and Kacey Gray returned for their second event, both improving well and enjoying themselves. Teagan finished in 13th place with 118 points, her best points in the long jump with a 1.57 leap and 17.91 in the howler.

Kacey finished in 17th place with 103 points and consistent points across all four events - the best in the howler with 13.60m and a 2.43m 600m. Lauren Lawrence had another great run in the 600m with 2.36 and her next best points in the long jump with 1.36.

Keeley Thorne did brilliantly in her first quad kids in 21st and got her best points in the howler throw with 19.12 and her debut long jump of 2.80.
