Derby County transfer round up with Championship duo on radar after Jerry Yates deal & more

Derby County have sprung to life in the summer transfer window.

It looked as though Derby County were lying fairly dormant in the summer transfer window.

That was until the Rams completed the free signing of midfielder Ben Osborn following his release from Sheffield United.

Shortly after, Paul Warne’s side completed the permanent signing of Kayden Jackson following his Ipswich Town release, then bringing in Jerry Yates in loan from Championship rivals Swansea City.

Derby County linked with Kenzo Goudmijn

Derby County have been linked with Kenzo Goudmijn, who currently plays for Dutch second tier side Excelsior.

It was reported in the Netherlands that Derby County have taken an interest in the 22-year-old, who could leave Excelsior on either a permanent or loan deal this summer.

Derby County target Olaf Kobacki joins Sheffield Wednesday

Another name in Europe who’s recently been linked with Derby County is Polish attacker Olaf Kobacki.

It was reported that the Rams were keen to sign Kobacki, who scored 15 goals for Arka in the Polish second tier last season.

But on Wednesday, Derby’s Championship rivals Sheffield Wednesday announced the signing of Kobacki on a four-year deal.

Derby County handed Ebou Adams boost

Derby County have been pushing for a permanent deal for Cardiff City loan man Ebou Adams, and it appears that the Rams have now been handed a boost on that front.

Journalist Darren Witcoop recently revealed that Derby County are confident of signing Adams and that talks between the Rams and Cardiff remain ongoing.

Alfie May joins Birmingham City after Derby County interest

Ahead of the summer, Derby County were linked with a move for last season’s League One Golden Boot winner Alfie May.

With Charlton Athletic, May scored 23 goals in League One last season, prompting the interest of Warne and Derby County.

But May has now signed for Birmingham City, who beat Huddersfield Town to the signing of the 31-year-old.

Ryan Longman on Derby County radar

Lastly, a new name has been added to Derby County’s transfer radar ahead of the 2024/25 season; Hull City winger Ryan Longman.

The 23-year-old appears to be out of favour at Hull City following a loan spell with Millwall last time round, where he scored three and assisted three more in 35 Championship outings.

Derby, along with Birmingham City and Wrexham are thought to be interested.
