Report: Everton will only need to pay £600k to sign striker who scored 22 goals last season

According to a recent report, Everton can sign a prolific striker for just £600,000 this summer transfer window.

Sean Dyche will be desperate to bolster his attacking ranks this summer after his side’s goalscoring woes last season.

He’s already added Iliman Ndiaye to his forward line – which was announced on Wednesday afternoon – and now it seems club chiefs are lining up a move for a former Barcelona player who has been in fine form on the continent.

Everton will only need to pay £600k for Martin Braithwaite

According to Spanish outlet AS, Everton will only need to pay £600,000 to sign Martin Braithwaite this summer transfer window.

It’s understood that The Toffees have already spoken to Braithwaite about a potential move to Merseyside, though, they are not alone in their pursuit, as Premier League clubs also circle.

Newly promoted Southampton and Leicester City have also held talks and are keen on signing the 22-goal striker, formerly of Middlesbrough.

There were reports that suggested Braithwaite was due to become a free agent after his Espanyol contract but it’s thought he does have a relatively small release clause that will need to be met by any forthcoming suitors.

Martin Branthwaite happy at Espanyol

Braithwaite is completely settled at Espanyol and is enjoying his lifestyle in Barcelona, however, it’s not feasible for the Spanish club to keep him.

The Danish centre forward can get a much more lucrative deal elsewhere and Espanyol will struggle to match any offers, especially from England.

So he is expected to depart this summer and Everton seem to be in a strong position to sign him.

They’ll be enticed by his low release clause as they continue to navigate through financial uncertainty.
