Report: Arsenal are about to sell their 'unbelievable' attacker to Champions League club

The Gunnera are set to announce the sale of an ‘unbelievable’ attacker this summer transfer window.

Mikel Arteta and sporting director Edu Gaspar will be working on a number of deals to bolster the squad ahead of the fast-approaching season.

Having missed out on the Premier League title by two points, it seems they’re just two or three top-level signings short of bridging the gap on Manchester City.

Riccardo Calafiori will be one of them, as they close in on the signing of the Italy defender who starred at Euro 2024.

That said, they’ll also be negotiating sales, as one attacker closes in on a summer exit.

Arsenal to sell Mika Biereth

According to Eduardo Hagn, Arsenal are set to sell Mika Biereth to Austrian champions Sturm Graz, where he spent the second half of last season on loan.

The 21-year-old striker, labelled as ‘unbelievable’, netted nine times whilst laying on four assists across 22 appearances for Sturm Graz and will now return next season.

A fee has not yet been confirmed but it’s expected to be a permanent transfer for a fee around the £10m mark.

Biereth leaves Arsenal having never made a senior appearance since joining the club from Fulham’s under-18s in 2021.

Arsenal to sell Nuno Tavares

Biereth isn’t the only Arsenal player who could be leaving the club this week.

Ajax are lining up a move for left-back Nuno Tavares, who doesn’t appear to be in Arteta’s plans having spent the last couple of seasons on loan at Marseille and Nottingham Forest – where he made just eight league appearances.

With Calafiori potentially coming in to play at left-back, he’ll likely be surplus to requirements once more.
