Man arrested after reportedly lying across train tracks at Canterbury West railway station

A man who reportedly jumped onto train tracks and refused to move has been arrested after causing delays at the station.

British Transport Police (BTP) says the individual will be questioned this morning following the incident at Canterbury West.

The incident occurred at Canterbury West Station

A BTP spokesperson said via X: “A male remains in custody after he was arrested at Canterbury West for obstruction of engines and carriages after he went to the station, jumped on the tracks and sat and laid there causing the trains to stop and power be turned off.

“He will be interviewed later this morning.”

Delays have since cleared and all trains from the city centre station are running on time.
