Wolves now drop exciting Pedro Lima verdict, he actually has one thing in common with Max Kilman

Wolves have said that new signing Pedro Lima shares something in common with club captain Max Kilman.

Lima completed his move to Molineux this week from Sport Recife, after he had seemingly been on track to join Chelsea a couple of weeks ago.

Wolves launched a successful hijack mission, with Lima having been sold on the project at Wolves.

Matheus Cunha played a role in helping to bring Lima to the club, and officials have high hopes that he can eventually become an established first-teamer.

Lima will take some time to settle in, but given the number of Portuguese speakers at the club, the transition period will hopefully be fairly smooth.

Wolves released a scouting report on Lima last night – and it turns out there is something he actually has in common with Max Kilman.

Hailing from Brazil, Lima actually grew up just a stone’s throw away from where Cunha did, in Paraiba.

Lima is understood to be quite a technical right-back, and he has been shaped this way due to playing futsal as a youngster, Wolves have said.

This is quite common for players in Brazil, but Lima was said to have ‘earned rave reviews’ at his futsal club, ‘while claiming several trophies and scoring some incredible goals’.

Interestingly, Wolves say that Lima did not actually start playing 11-a-side football until the age of 15. Wolves say that Lima ‘was able to transfer his futsal skills onto the big pitch with relative ease and has benefitted his on-the-ball ability’.

Of course, Wolves already had another player with a futsal background in Kilman.

As most Wolves fans will know at this point, Kilman previously played futsal for England, turning out 25 times between 2015 and 2018 while also playing for Maidenhead United.

Lima will be a technical player

Given he has a futsal background, Wolves fans can certainly expect Lima to be a technically solid player.

He is bound to be someone with good footwork, and potentially someone who is comfortable in tight spaces and good when being pressed. Indeed, Wolves do claim that Lima is ‘extremely comfortable on the ball’.

The club believe he has the potential to become a ‘complete’ full-back, which is an exciting verdict.

Lima has only just turned 18 though and it is obviously going to be some time before we see him properly flourishing at Molineux.

Potentially, given his futsal background, he is going to be a fun player to watch. The challenge for him though will likely be the physicality aspect of English football.

Lima is said to have a turn of pace, but it may be that some wingers he comes up against are stronger than he is.
