Arne Slot has now had a 'personal talk' with £30m Leeds player, he wants him at Liverpool - journalist

In a different world, Arne Slot may well have been the manager at Leeds United with the club still in the Premier League.

However, after opting to stay at Feyenoord, Slot has since earned a big move to Liverpool and is now looking to bring one of Leeds‘ biggest stars with him.

Leeds have already seen one of their best players move to one of the Premier League’s big six this summer, with Archie Gray having joined Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday.

Gray’s £40 million has exit has eased Leeds’ Profit and Sustainability concerns significantly, but it does not necessarily mean the rest of their squad will stay intact.

Brighton saw a bid rejected for Georginio Rutter earlier this week, while speculation linking Glen Kamara with Rennes has also intensified. A difficult summer certainly remains ahead.

Slot holds talks with Crysencio Summerville ahead of Leeds transfer

Given the amount of interest in Leeds’ players from Europe’s top five leagues, it is difficult to hide away from the fact Daniel Farke failed by not winning promotion last season.

Leeds always knew that by not returning to the Premier League at least one big sale would be needed, and it will be interesting to see how many more follow.

The 49ers do now believe they are in a better position when it comes to negotiating, but from a player’s point of view, when a club like Liverpool come calling, it is difficult to say no.

And according to journalist Wiebe de Vries, that is exactly what Reds boss Slot has done with Crysencio Summerville.

It is said that Slot has now had a ‘personal talk’ with the 22-year-old Leeds winger, and that his most likely destination is either Anfield or PSG.

Leeds have sent an asking price of £30 million for Summerville this summer, and so it remains to be seen whether Liverpool stump up the cash to do so.

Fabrizio Romano shares update on PSG interest

While de Vries has suggested it is now a straight shootout between PSG and Liverpool, Fabrizio Romano claimed this morning the race is more ‘open’.

In fact, Romano somewhat shut down news of PSG’s interest, suggesting he only briefly came up in talks as they are actually trying to sign Feyenoord’s Lutsharel Geetruida, with the Dutch duo sharing the same agent.

He wrote: “My understanding is that the situation is: Summerville shares the same agents as Feyenoord defender Lutsharel Geertruida.

“PSG are in talks with Geertruida on personal terms, so Summerville was mentioned during talks but there’s still no negotiation ongoing between the clubs or the player’s agents. It’s an open race with Brighton and more clubs interested.”
