Russia has no signs of a strategic breakthrough on the battlefield in Ukraine, which is why it lacks any incentive to sit down at the negotiating table, according to Czech President Petr Pavel.
As Pavel points out, the proposals of the Russian Federation to end the war were still ultimatums and provided for the unconditional surrender of Ukraine, and not a solid basis for peace negotiations.
The Czech leader notes that Russia will continue to try to achieve territorial gains in Ukraine. At the same time, he noted that it is important to support Ukraine to the extent that the Russian Federation understands that the only way to end the conflict is through negotiations, and not further continuation of hostilities.
"Russia has not achieved any significant territorial gains, and no signs of a strategic breakthrough on its part are expected, but it has more resources than Ukraine," the Czech President emphasizes.
Pavel adds that Ukraine proves that it has the determination and a chance to defend itself with its attitude and heroism of the military and civilians.
Czech aid to Ukraine
We will remind you that Czechia has already provided defense assistance to Ukraine since the large-scale military aggression by the Russian Federation in the total amount of 6.75 billion Czech crowns (about 288.42 million US dollars), which was announced by the Minister of Defense of the country Yana Chornokhova.
As Prime Minister Petr Fiala stated on June 25, the first batch of ammunition has already arrived in Ukraine as part of the initiative to transfer shells from Czechia to Ukraine.
On June 27, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the shells that Ukraine began to receive as part of the Czech initiative are already strengthening the Ukrainian defenders on the battlefield.
