Charity won in style when Dennyside Bowling Association members paid a visit to Bishop’s Stortford Bowling Club.
The charitable bowlers from south-east England and beyond arrived in Stortford for a special challenge match, with the visitors winning 105-87 over six fours rinks (3-3).
But the real winners were the Stortford branch of Parkinson’s UK, who picked up £1,900 for their Moving Medicine initiative. This work sees Parkinson’s sufferers experience improvements to their wellbeing from regular sporting activities.

Several fundraisers were held on the day to raise the bumper sum, made up to £2,000 with a donation from Stortford member Paul Nelson.
Meanwhile, Aileen Stevenson and Phyllis Cracknell’s run in the county women’s pairs is over at the quarter-final stage.
After Stortford led from the start, the Harpenden pair caught up on the 16th end and then got two shots on each of the final two ends.
