How much former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp would ask to be paid if he took over the USA national team job

Liverpool fans and indeed players were left devastated when Jurgen Klopp announced he was leaving in January.

The manager cited fatigue as a major reason behind the decision to leave Anfield after eight-and-a-half years.

Pep Lijnders is clearly missing the German, with the former Reds coach mentioning Klopp during his first press conference as RB Salzburg manager.

Klopp enjoyed a stunning spell at Liverpool, clinching seven major trophies during his time on Merseyside.

His successor Arne Slot is doing his utmost to learn from the iconic boss, with the Dutchman having watched many matches and training sessions from the Reds.

How much would Jurgen Klopp ask for as USA manager?

Klopp is likely to take a lengthy break from managerial roles after his lengthy reign at Anfield, but links to new jobs have unsurprisingly emerged.

One of which is the USA national team, with BBC Sport mooting free agents Klopp, Thomas Tuchel and Mauricio Pochettino for the role.

The publication added that all three are available, but would demand an annual salary significantly more than $3million (£2.37million).

How will Liverpool manage without Jurgen Klopp?

Liverpool suffered a significant downturn in form in the latter stages of last season, even if they did lift the League Cup trophy.

It was a fine achievement from Klopp and his players, particularly given the youthful side that played against Chelsea due to senior injury problems.

But the club’s Premier League title charge did dramatically fade away, paving the way for a two-horse race between Manchester City and Arsenal.

Disappointing exits were also suffered in the FA Cup and Europa League at the hands of Manchester United and Atalanta respectively.

But that is all in the past, with Slot now keen to usher in the new era at Anfield with plenty of success, and more importantly silverware.

He has previously impressed with both AZ Alkmaar and Feyenoord, with Liverpool fans hoping he can have a very similar impact to Klopp on Merseyside.
