Sheffield Wednesday finalising 'finer details' of latest transfer, 7th summer signing 'imminent' - journalist

Sheffield Wednesday have confirmed their seventh signing of the summer transfer window.

Sheffield Wednesday have continued with their impressive summer transfer haul with a seventh signing now imminent.

Danny Rohl got his sixth summer signing over the line on Wednesday, with Olaf Kobacki joining from Polish outfit Arka on a four-year contract.

So far this summer, Ben Hamer, Max Lowe, Svante Ingelsson, and Jamal Lowe have joined on free transfers, whilst Kobacki and Yan Valery have been signed for transfer fees.

There’s rumours of more signings on the way at Hillsborough with Manchester United’s released forward Charlie McNeill widely expected to sign for Sheffield Wednesday in the near future.

Now though, Rohl has closed on a return for one of last season’s loan players, in what should be a massive boost to the German coach and his side’s chances in the 2024/25 Championship campaign.

Sheffield Wednesday confirm James Beadle return

Sheffield Wednesday have been keen for Brighton loan man James Beadle to return to S6, following his impressive spell in the second half of the 2023/24 campaign.

Now, the club has confirmed that Beadle has returned on a season-long loan, in what should be a huge boost for both club and player.

Last season, Beadle displaced Cameron Dawson in the Sheffield Wednesday starting XI, going on to keep eight clean sheets in 19 Championship outings as the Owls achieved an impressive 20th place finish.

James Beadle loan return proves one thing at Sheffield Wednesday

Sheffield Wednesday, last summer especially, don’t often have too much luck in the loan market.

But the January loan signing of Beadle in particular, and now his return, shows that Sheffield Wednesday under Rohl are an attractive place for Premier League clubs to send their younger players.

Brentford man Myles Peart-Harris is also linked with Sheffield Wednesday, with more likely to be linked as the summer transfer window goes on.

So for Sheffield Wednesday, after some really tough years, with summer transfers often being very disappointing, the club has certainly turned a corner this summer.

Owner Dejphon Chansiri is earning prise for his ambition this summer and Rohl is also earning plaudits for instilling a new mentality and future for the club.

Things are certainly looking up, and for Beadle, the chance to play regular Championship football next season will be great for his development.
