'Exceptional': Bradley Wright-Phillips in awe with what Inter Miami star did vs Charlotte FC

Bradley Wright-Phillips has showered one Inter Miami star with praise after what he pulled off last night against Charlotte FC.

The Herons recorded another huge win on the road after Saturday’s 2-1 win against Nashville SC on Saturday, with Inter Miami securing the same result in North Carolina against Charlotte thanks to a late winner from Benjamin Cremaschi.

With no Lionel Messi due to his participation at the Copa America, Inter Miami’s run of form without their star captain has been nothing short of impressive, with Tata Martino’s side winning the last four games in a row.

Julian Gressel praised after ‘exceptional’ Inter Miami assist vs Charlotte

Speaking on MLS 360, Wright-Phillips showered Julian Gressel with praise after the versatile winger’s game-winning assist for Cremaschi, with the USA international registering a goal contribution in each of the last five games,

Since making the move into Messi’s right-wing position, Gressel has arguably been the best player in MLS with the Germany-born Inter Miami star thriving back out on the wing with the Argentina away on international duty.

And for Wright-Phillips, Gressel’s assist was reminiscent of how the forward used to deliver in crosses for Atlanta United, the club where the 30-year-old made his breakthrough in MLS under Martino.

Wright-Phillips said on Gressel’s assist for Cremaschi: “This is how we used to see Julian Gressel during his Atlanta days, his service was exceptional, and that’s the same right there.”

Gressel has stepped up big time since Messi’s Copa America departure

Inter Miami fans and pundits were unsure how the Herons would cope without Messi whilst the 37-year-old was away at the Copa America, yet Gressel has stepped up big time since the Argentine’s departure.

The former Columbus Crew has put up numbers that the soccer great would be proud of, with Gressel managing four assists and a goal in Inter Miami’s last five MLS games.

Indeed, Gressel has made the right-wing position his own, and with Messi away, Inter Miami have a real outlet in the role in the USA international, who is thriving as the main man for the Herons.
