Report: European Cup winners hold talks to sign 'outstanding' Arsenal player in the last few hours

An Arsenal player has been in talks to leave the club this summer transfer window, according to a recent report.

The Gunners are looking to accelerate their transfer plans this month as the weeks tick on towards the start of the fast-approaching summer transfer window.

Though, like all clubs, they will have to trade and move players out the door to comply with Profit and Sustainability regulations.

With that said, one player has held talks about a summer exit.

Arsenal’s Nuno Tavares holds talks with Lazio

According to Di Marzio, Lazio have held talks with Arsenal left-back Nuno Tavares over the last few hours.

“Lazio are moving on the market and have taken information for Nuno Tavares, a left-back owned by Arsenal,” the Italian journalist wrote.

“The Biancocelesti have sounded out the waters for the Portuguese player through a meeting with his entourage, which took place in the last few hours.”

Lazio aren’t prioritising a move for Tavares but he remains on the shortlist.

Ajax also in for Nuno Tavares

TBR reported yesterday that Ajax are also considering a move for the ‘outstanding’ defender, who spent last season on loan at Nottingham Forest.

An asking price has not yet been confirmed but considering they outlaid £8m to sign him, it’s likely they’ll want to make a profit on his sale.

Fabio Vieira and Albert Sambi Lokonga also could be on their way out this summer, with the latter agreeing to join Sevilla.

Aaron Ramsdale is another who faces an uncertain future after being dropped to number two with David Raya now the main man in goal.

It seems sporting director Edu Gaspar is working hard on a number of sales to facilitate incoming signings.
