In Rostov-on-Don (Russian Federation), explosions were heard overnight into July 5th, amid operations of air defense systems due to drone attacks. Fires broke out from falling debris, according to Vasily Golubev, the governor of the Rostov region and local Telegram channels.

Around three o'clock in the morning, officials reported the operation of air defense systems near Rostov.

"In the vicinity of Rostov, air defense units are engaging multiple airborne targets of the enemy," stated the governor in his Telegram message.

The governor added that information regarding the aftermath is being clarified.

Meanwhile, local social media channels have published footage purportedly showing the moment of one drone being downed over Rostov. The videos also capture explosions, a fire, and the movement of emergency services to the scene of the incident on the Left Bank of the city.

It is also reported online that at least 12 drones were allegedly shot down on approach to Rostov. Rostov media sources claim all drones have been neutralized, labeling this drone raid as massive and the most intense attack in history.
