Srinagar:
Jailed Kashmiri leader Sheikh Abdul Rashid aka Er Rashid was temporarily released from Tihar Jail on Friday to take his oath as a Member of Parliament from Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla constituency.
Engineer Rashid’s release was conducted under specific conditions outlined in his parole orders.
Currently held in Delhi’s Tihar jail in connection with a militant funding case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, Rashid was granted a two-hour custody parole to travel to and from Parliament for the oath-taking ceremony.
