The 2023/24 campaign has provides a solid benchmark for Tottenham to develop in the coming campaign having secured themselves a spot in the Europa League.

International tournaments may have hindered Tottenham’s summer plans to get business done early on with the majority of the work done by Daniel Levy seeing players leave the club.

Ange Postecoglou planning ‘big’ summer addition next

Injuries were a big issue for Tottenham last season and Spurs may well believe had they have had a stronger squad last season they would have secured Champions League football.

But the foundations were certainly set by Postecoglou as he established a number of players in his squad like Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero as players to take his side forward.

In signing Gray, Postecoglou has brought in a versatile midfielder who could also be used as a defensive option if needed at right-back.

However, now it may be time to bolster the forward options this summer with Spurs needing a squad filled with quality if they are going to compete in across all competitions.

According to BBC Sport, Postecoglou is now planning to bring in a new forward as their next ‘big transfer’.

Spurs have already signed one forward this summer in Timo Werner who has joined on another loan from RB Leipzig.

But the north London side are still needing to add to their frontline after selling Harry Kane last summer and losing the consistent return of goals the England captain provided.

Will Tottenham sign a striker this summer?

The obvious choice would seem for Tottenham to focus their attention on signing a new striker as they aim to find a replacement for Kane.

Richarlison‘s 2023/24 campaign provided more questions than it answered with fans still unclear as to whether he could be a reliable option up top for the Lilywhites.

Yet, Spurs continue to be linked with wide options this summer in the form of Pedro Neto and Desire Doue.

Given Spurs were forced to play Heung-min Son through the middle for large parts of last season, a new striker would feel like the way forward this summer.
