European club confident of signing ‘amazing’ £20m Tottenham player; talks set to start next week

Tottenham’s summer plans might involve bringing in new players but they’re also looking to shift players on as well and could now be ready to engage in talks over one key sale.

Spurs are already active this summer and completed a big money move for Archie Gray just this week.

Gray’s arrival means Tottenham have already signed three players after Timo Werner came back on loan and young midfielder Lucas Bergvall officially joined.

However, in order to ensure balance to the squad, Ange Postecoglou is keen to move players on as well.

The Aussie made no secret of his desire to see change at the back end of last season.

A number of players are believed to be on the chopping block if the right offer comes in.

And according to reports from Turkey, former Spurs boss Jose Mourinho could be about to do Tottenham a favour.

Fenerbahce think they can use Jose Mourinho to sign Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

According to a report from Sabah, Fenerbahce are keen on signing Hojbjerg and feel they have an ace up their sleeve in the form of Mourinho.

Of course, Mourinho worked closely with Hojbjerg while in charge of Spurs and is a big fan of the Dane.

Sabah claims that talks to sign Hojbjerg are set to start next week as the Turkish giants look to capitalise on a potential fire sale at Spurs.

Tottenham paid around £20m to sign Hojbjerg back in 2020 and will be keen to recoup at least some of that money if they do sell.

For Hojbjerg, the chance to link up with former boss Mourinho could prove tempting.

The Danish midfielder is among the players Ange Postecoglou is open to letting go after only playing a bit part for Spurs last season.

Lauded as an ‘amazing‘ player by Denmark teammate Thomas Delaney, Hojbjerg also has interest from around Europe and could have to make a decision when the time comes.
