Pitt's Formula One film to be called 'F1'

A new Hollywood film about Formula One starring Brad Pitt and Javier Bardem will be called "F1" following an announcement at the British Grand Prix on Friday.

It will hit cinemas in around a year and was mainly filmed last year at Silverstone.

Joint-record world champion Lewis Hamilton has worked as adviser and co-producer on the project, which is being backed by F1 bosses as they hope for a similar success to the "Drive to Survive" Netflix series about the sport.

Pitt will play a fictional veteran driver who is returning to the grid after a long gap following an accident.
