Chelsea are now going to hire staff member from Manchester City ‘immediately’

Chelsea are undergoing some serious changes when it comes to members of staff working at the club.

It all kicked off when Mauricio Pochettino was replaced straight after the end of last season, with a swift operation seeing Enzo Maresca selected to be the new head coach.

Despite the fact that he has never managed in the Premier League, the long contract he has been handed suggests they have a lot of faith in his success.

There is change in order at the academy level too, with some of the longest serving members of staff set to leave the club.

Neil Bath, who had been with the Blues for over 30 years, has been announced as departing the club, with a number of first team players sending their thanks as a result.

With many wondering what the future of the academy will look like in the coming years, it is looking as if they are approaching a Premier League rival to make their first addition.

Chelsea to hire Glen Van Der Krann

According to The Secret Scout, the Blues are set to bring in Glen Van Der Krann from Manchester City as a coach.

Theysaid: “Understand Man City’s Head of Coaching (u9-u14) Glen Van Der Krann will join Chelsea as a senior academy coach, immediately!

“He will leave City and help academy rebulid after Jim Fraser and Neil Bath departed. Chelsea set to appoint overall head of academy. Who will oversee Talent ID and philosophy.”

There are a number of top talents currently with the academy who many fear could be on the move and slip through the club’s fingers.

Top of that list is Rio Ngumoha, who looks at this stage unlikely to sign a new contract with the club, with his beliefs being that there is not a clear pathway to the first team.

With players such as Jamal Musiala proving that they have missed a trick in the past, they will be keeping a close eye on who slips through the net this summer and beyond.
