Report: Manchester City now keen on signing 'unbelievable' player Arsenal have bid for

It’s never plain sailing in a transfer window and now Arsenal could find old nemesis Manchester City in their way when it comes to one signing.

The Gunners are looking to make waves this summer and ensure their squad is completely ready to go toe to toe with City next season.

As part of that, Mikel Arteta is looking to make a number of signings as he seeks to finally overhaul Pep Guardiola.

Of course, we know Arsenal are keen on signing Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori and there’s also been reported interest in Lecce defender, Patrick Dorgu.

However, a new goalkeeper has also been touted despite David Raya completing a permanent move.

But according to reports from Spain, one potential arrival in the sticks for the Gunners is now being looked at by Manchester City.

Manchester City could rival Arsenal to sign Andriy Lunin

According to Spanish outlet Bernabeu Digital, Manchester City are now considering a bid for Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin.

Lunin produced some fine performances last season as an able deputy for Thibaut Courtois, who missed a chunk of the season through injury.

City’s interest comes as they face up to the potential of Ederson moving on this summer, with heavy interest in the Brazilian from Saudi Arabia.

Of course, City’s interest in Lunin is news for Arsenal as well.

Reports have suggested the Gunners have actually made an offer to sign Lunin themselves. The Gunners are looking at potential cover, with the future of Aaron Ramsdale up in the air.

Ramsdale has dropped to number two behind David Raya and there is a feeling the Englishman will be allowed to move on this summer.

Lunin, of course, is used to being the number two at Madrid but he was lauded as an ‘unbelievable‘ by Jude Bellingham, so clearly he is respected by his peers.

Quite whether he’d be willing to sit on the bench at Arsenal remains to be seen, while if Ederson does leave City, the chance at being the number one at The Etihad could appeal.
