Donald Trump Blasts Christine Ford On Twitter: ‘Charges Would Have Been Filed’ If Assault Was ‘As Bad As She Says’

Trump Organization Asked Panama's President Juan Carlos Varela For Help In Business Deal

President Donald Trump continued defending Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh on Friday, but this time he also went after Kavanaugh’s sexual assault accuser Christine Blasey Ford.

In a pair of tweets Friday morning, Trump slammed Ford for her allegations, saying if the incident was as bad as she claimed, she would have immediately filed charges with local police.

“I have no doubt that, if the attack on Dr. Ford was as bad as she says, charges would have been immediately filed with local Law Enforcement Authorities by either her or her loving parents,” the president wrote. “I ask that she bring those filings forward so that we can learn date, time, and place!”

In separate Twitter posts, Trump also criticized “radical left-wing politicians” who are going after Kavanaugh without any facts to base their assertions on. The president also questioned why the FBI wasn’t alerted about the alleged assault in 1982, when Kavanaugh was 17 and Ford was 15.

Ford claimed last week that when she was in high school, Kavanaugh and one of his classmates held her down, covered her mouth and tried to remove her clothes. The psychology researcher has requested an FBI investigation into her claims as Senate Judiciary Committee members push for both her and Kavanaugh to testify under oath next week before the vote to confirm the latter to the Supreme Court is held.
