A long-awaited event

The fifth season comes after last year's game-changing interactive film Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, in which viewers get to make several choices throughout the movie and thus alter the plot and its outcomes. It was an experimental, mind-bending experience that highlighted the story-telling ability of the show's creators.

But even with Bandersnatch, fans were impatiently waiting since 2017 (when season 4 was released) for the announcement of the next iteration of the Black Mirror saga—which, though featuring mostly standalone episodes, does provide an underlying connected universe.

So, this comes as great news. Here's hoping the new season meets expectations, but if you'll allow us to judge a book by its cover—considering how awesome the trailer is—it looks like we're in for a treat.
