The 'Terminator: Dark Fate' Trailer Is Here To Correct An Ill-Fated Past

"I'll be back" is one of Arnold Schwarzenegger's signature one-liners. It's also one of the most celebrated one-liners of all time, and with the sixth installment of the Terminatorfranchise, 35 years after the first movie, it's a one-liner that now applies to Linda Hamilton, the original Sarah Connor (also played by Game of Thronesstar Emilia Clarke). Terminator: Dark Fatewill be released in October, and already it's creating a huge buzz.

Funnily enough, though, Schwarzenegger will also appear in this sixth installment as the killer robot gone good we all know and love, except he's clearly not the T-800 he became known for. Instead, we see Sarah leading a group into a house where the a homey-looking, aged Schwarzenegger greets them. He seems to be living a normal suburban life in hiding, white-picket fence and all. Has T-800 gone full dad? Will he start telling awful jokes? There's only one way to find out.

@entertainmentweeklyYet, Linda Hamilton and Schwarzenegger won't be the only ones reuniting for this film. After the previous two films were total flops, James Cameron is returning as producer, so don't except the same old, same old regarding Terminator: SalvationandTerminator: Genisys. Hopefully, Cameron will do plenty to correct the franchise's path.

Is Artificial Intelligence Remotely Close To Human Consciousness?

In fact, Dark Fateis set to start a complete new set of films, a trilogy, most likely, with a whole new set of characters. These characters are introduced to us early on in the trailer with Gabriel Luna playing a psycho killer robot and a new set of heroes (with a largely female cast). An aged Connor jumps in to save these unnamed characters, one of which she confuses for a robot until she says: "I'm human." TW-IST, y'all!

@episodi_lehtiThe implication is that Dark Fateis a direct sequel to T2: Judgement Day, thus allowing us to forget the previous films they made us watch in the last years, and instead giving us the reunion we've all been waiting for. Linda Hamilton is a powerful force and if we choose to believe Emilia Clarke's polar opposite interpretation of this character, well, then, that's character development for you.
