Into the dark alleys behind morning television

The show was the focus of a tense bidding war among many worthy networks before Apple picked it up in November 2017. As things stand now, Apple's idea is to produce two 20-episode seasons and see how it goes from there. As its name suggests, The Morning Show will look inside the chaotic, backstabbing lives of the people involved in a seemingly harmless morning show, based on Brian Shelter's book, Top of the Morning: Inside the Cutthroat World of Morning TV.

This isone of Apple's first originals. Back in 2017, the company announced that it would be spending over $1 billion on the original content for the launch of its anticipated streaming service,Apple TV+—which will be available this fall. Other than The Morning Show, its upcoming originals include Steven Spielberg's Amazing Stories, Oprah's docuseries, J.J. Abrahams' Little Voice, and Truth Be Told(starring Octavia Spencer), among many others.
