Seven Wonders In Seven Days: This YouTuber Shows Us How To Do It

People sometimes set out on really ambitious plans to visit world landmarks; it takes them years to make the plans alone and even more years to carry them out. Those people are not YouTuber Simon Wilson who set out himself on a mission to visit World landmarks in one single trip (sort of). But these weren't just any landmarks. The places Wilson visited were the so-called New 7 wonders of the world which include the Colosseum in Italy, the Great Wall of China, the city of Petra in Jordan, the Chichen Itzá pyramids in Mexico, the Taj Mahal in India, and the Christ the Redeemer monument in Brazil (Wilson skipped Machu Picchu in Perú but replaced it with the Pyramid in Giza, the sole surviving landmark of the seven Wonders of the Ancient world, the original ones). And he did this in only 7 days!

Wilson told Insiderhow he did it: carefully planning each flight and connection. When the day came, he would head straight from the airport to each of the sites. The fact that he could make it was nothing short of a miracle. No delays and no cancellations in spite of having to take these many flights.

Wilson set out to achieve a mission –and achieve it he did. He perfectly coordinated flights, taxis, and showers in airport lounges, spending only one of those nights in a hotel and another at an Airbnb. The rest of his sleeping hours he spent them inside airplanes while he flew half across the world.

Wilson told Insider about his experience visiting Petra where he was "just chilling with some of the locals on the side of a cliff ... There was a moment where this Chinese guy was trying to take a picture up there, and a guy who lived on the cliff offered to take a picture." Tourist then offered to pay for the man's help, but the man declined. "He turned to me and said, 'These people think you need money to be rich.'"

Upon arriving to the US (on one of his connection flights), Wilson realized he needed a visa. In any other case, Border Patrol and custom agents had grounds to deport him back to his home country (the United Kingdom), but these agents were so enchanted with his mission that they let him through (not without making sure he hopped on his plane to Mexico) so he could complete his journey.

"If you don't try something, you're never going to know if it's doable," he says. Wilson, naturally, made videos of each of the wonders he visited, and he also posted pictures of them on hisInstagram account.
